Coffee

Why do people only want to drink one type of coffee?

We might like many different wines with much different flavor and aromatic profiles. We like to vary what we eat and enjoy the diversity and richness of so many different foods.

But everyday, we wake up and drink the same cup of coffee and have no tolerance for different blends, coffee origins and tastes. How many people do you know who brew different coffee blends daily? How do you explain this routinism?

Call me on my cell phone at 347.821.3232 if you have an explanation.

By the way, who is responsible for the new form of telephone number notation? Years ago, I would write my cell number as 347-821-3232. But now, I use periods in the place of hyphen. This is even formalized in the new CD version of Strunk & White.

Personally, I have buying and drinking Graffeo coffee from San Francisco for the past thirty years. This is such a boring, predictable and relentless habit that I am actually ashamed of myself.

That's it, I need another cup.

Your cell # is busy dood!

I think for some people the higher brain functions don't activate until AFTER the first cup. Before it is the time for fetal/reptilian modes of behavior -- coffee as binky.

This year we’ve been gorging on Finca El Pintado and El Valle estate coffees from Guatemala as well as some from the Costa Rican Dota cooperative and Mexico’s Irlanda farm. As the American new crop season (fall-winter) gives way to that of Indonesia (winter-spring) I look forward to slurping joe from Sigri Estate in Papua New Guinea ... as well as others.

Coffee is important.

Because coffee tastes awful. It's very much an acquired taste and once acquired doesn't like sudden changes in the pallate.

As far as the phone numbers system, that's the phone number a lot of the world has been using for some time, we're just now catching up. Plus, it's much easier to hit the period key when typing over the dash.

Because it isn't fashionable yet. I hope it remains so until the world jumps on the Fair Trade bandwagon. That is important. I hope your coffee is Fair Trade Wine Importer! 30 years is alot of java!
Most of the world doesn't drink coffee the way people assume. And all the additions, milk, sugar, flavourings, mask the taste anyway. Educate yourself, go to a tasting! Much like wine, there are delicate aromas and nuances that are awaiting discovery!

If you have time, tiptoe through this website for a while: www.coffeegeek.com

You'll find many people who appreciate different coffees. Keep in mind, however, that espresso is the more popular beverage there.
